Hair That a Vacuum Leaves Behind
Pet hair removal is an add on that takes the hair your dog leaves behind out of your car’s interior, using special tools. It is added to a valet or a detail, pairs most naturally with an Extensive Clean and starts from £100. Pricing depends on the severity and the vehicle size, and the final price is confirmed before any work starts.
If you travel with a dog, you will know how the hair works its way into the car. It settles into the weave of the seat fabric, presses into the carpets and gathers in the corners of the boot, where a vacuum alone often lifts only what sits on the surface. This add on is for the hair that stays behind.
Raj Bhogal founded Ride Effect in Bedford in 2021, and every car is approached with the same care, patience and pride, from a full detail to a family estate that takes the dog to the park. We work on your drive, at your workplace or at our unit, across Bedford, Luton, Milton Keynes, Cambridge, Northampton and Towcester.

A heavy covering: a thick layer of hair woven deep into the fabric and packed into the seam.

Why a Vacuum Is Not Enough
Pet hair weaves itself into seat fabric and carpet, where a vacuum on its own leaves it behind. Special tools work it out of the weave so it can be lifted away.
Pricing depends on the severity and the vehicle size, and is confirmed once the car has been seen.

Where Pet Hair Gathers in a Car
In most dog owners’ cars, the boot takes the worst of it. A dog that travels in the back sheds onto the boot carpet on every trip, and the hair is pressed deeper into the fibres each time the dog lies down or the boot is loaded. Over the months it becomes part of the carpet itself, and one pass of a vacuum rarely shifts it.
The seats come next. Fabric seats have a weave that holds onto short, fine hair, and a dog on the back seat leaves hair along the seat base, across the backrest and down between the cushions. Hair also finds its way into the footwells and under the front seats, carried in on coats, shoes and paws.
Family cars tend to collect the most, as the hair mixes with crumbs and everyday dirt when a car carries children, a dog and everything that comes with them. Pet hair removal is well suited to exactly that kind of interior, the car that is used every day, and the special tools work through the seats, carpets and boot alike.

- Seat bases and backrests
- The gaps between seat cushions
- Footwells and floor mats

How Our Pet Hair Removal Works
Pet hair removal uses special tools to remove the hair from your interior, including the strands woven into the seat fabric and pressed into the carpets. We work through the seats, the footwells and the boot with the same care and patience that goes into every job, treating your car as if it were our own, with no shortcuts.
Because it is an add on, the hair removal is carried out during the same visit as your valet or detail. When it is added to a valet, the rest of the interior is cleaned at the same time, from the vacuumed mats and carpets to the wiped down dash, trims and door panels, so the whole cabin is cared for.

I have just had a premium valet by Ride Effect, and if I had just one word to encapsulate it, it would be ‘wow’. Clearly car valeting and detailing is a passion to Raj, and he completed his work with a smile, and with the love and attention as if the car was his own.

Added to Our Extensive Clean
Pet hair removal can be added to any valet or detail, and it pairs most naturally with an Extensive Clean. In an Extensive Clean, the cabin is fully vacuumed, dusted and cleaned, and it is steam cleaned, leaving it clean and disinfected. The mats and carpets are washed and extracted, and the boot area is cleaned as part of the same work.
Together, the two give a dog owner’s car a thorough reset. The add on deals with the hair, and the Extensive Clean takes care of the rest of the cabin, from the roof lining to the shuts, finishing with an air blast that leaves the vehicle smelling clean and fresh. If a smell has settled in as well, our Odour Eliminator can be added to the same visit.
For a car that is already on our maintenance plan, the add on can also be included in a regular Maintenance Wash when the hair has built up again. That keeps the interior close to the standard the Extensive Clean set, without waiting for the next deep clean.
How the Price Is Worked Out

Pet hair removal starts from £100. Pricing depends on the severity and the vehicle size, so a Fiat 500 with a light covering on the back seat is priced differently from a Mercedes G Class that has carried a long haired dog in the boot for years. The price is confirmed once we have seen the car, before any work starts.
To book, get in touch with the make and model, where the car will be, the valet or detail you would like and roughly how much hair there is. A £10 deposit per vehicle confirms the booking and comes off the final balance, and payment is due on the day or before by BACS, card, cash or PayPal.
How Much Does Pet Hair Removal Cost?
Pet hair removal starts from £100, added to a valet or a detail. Pricing depends on the severity and the vehicle size, so a small car with a light covering costs less than a large vehicle with hair in every seat and the boot. The final price is confirmed before any work starts.
Can You Get Dog Hair Out of Car Seats?
Yes, our pet hair removal add on uses special tools to remove dog hair from your interior, including fabric seats where the hair has worked into the weave. It covers the carpets, footwells and boot too, and the rest of the car is looked after by the valet or detail it is added to.
Why Doesn't a Vacuum Remove All the Dog Hair?
A vacuum lifts the loose hair, but much of it works its way into the weave of the seat fabric and the fibres of the carpet, where suction alone tends to leave it behind. That is the hair our add on is for, using special tools as part of your valet or detail.
Is Pet Hair Removal Included in a Valet?
No, pet hair removal is an add on, added to a valet or a detail when you book and priced from £100. Every valet includes a vacuum of the seats, mats and carpets, and the add on goes further, using special tools for the hair held in the fabric.
Which Valet Is Best for Pet Hair Removal?
For most dog owners, an Extensive Clean is the natural choice. It includes a full vacuum, a steam clean that leaves the cabin clean and disinfected, washed and extracted mats and carpets and a cleaned boot, so the whole interior is reset. The add on can also be added to a Maintenance Wash or a detail.
Do You Clean Dog Hair Out of the Boot?
Yes, the boot is part of the interior, and the special tools we use for pet hair removal work there as well as on the seats and carpets. In many dog owners’ cars the boot is where the most hair gathers, so let us know when you book if your dog travels there.
Can Pet Hair Removal Be Done at My Home?
Yes, pet hair removal is carried out as part of your valet or detail, wherever that takes place: on your drive, at your workplace or at our unit. We cover Bedford, Luton, Milton Keynes, Cambridge, Northampton and Towcester, along with the surrounding counties and London, and prices may vary depending on location.
